IT Support & Help Desk
User support, troubleshooting, remote assistance, workstation issues, and day-to-day technology problems.
For many small businesses in 2026, roughly $100–$200+ per user per month is a useful planning range for comprehensive managed IT. But the number by itself tells you very little unless you know what is included.
A 2026 survey of 412 MSPs and buyers reported an average of $145 per user per month for fully managed IT, with most plans between $110 and $185. Published Florida pricing guides show similarly broad ranges depending on service depth and security requirements.
That makes $100–$200+ per user per month a reasonable starting point for budgeting—not a PTS price quote. A provider can legitimately fall below or above that range depending on exactly what it is responsible for.
Important: The figures in this guide are market benchmarks, not Precision Technology Solutions pricing. PTS prices services after understanding the client environment and selected scope.
The monthly price depends on which responsibilities the business transfers to its IT provider.
User support, troubleshooting, remote assistance, workstation issues, and day-to-day technology problems.
Device monitoring, patching, preventative maintenance, alerting, and keeping supported systems healthy.
Endpoint protection, identity controls, MFA, email security, security monitoring, awareness, and other layers can materially change the scope.
Explore Cybersecurity Services →User administration, Exchange, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, licensing, identity, and troubleshooting may be included or priced separately.
Explore Microsoft 365 Support →Protecting workstations, servers, Microsoft 365 data, and critical systems adds tooling and ongoing recovery responsibility.
Explore Backup & Disaster Recovery →Firewalls, Wi-Fi, switching, servers, VPNs, multiple locations, and virtual infrastructure can add complexity beyond supporting users.
Explore Network & Infrastructure Support →A recurring price for each supported user. It is easy to budget as headcount changes, but buyers still need to understand what services and devices are included.
Workstations, servers, firewalls, or other devices are priced individually. This can make sense when the number of users and devices do not track closely.
Providers offer predefined levels of service. This simplifies buying, but businesses should check whether important security, backup, or support capabilities sit outside the chosen tier.
A core support/management service is combined with the components the client actually needs. This can fit businesses well when scope differs significantly between environments.
Users and devices: More people and endpoints generally mean more support and management.
Security requirements: Advanced endpoint, email, identity, monitoring, or regulatory requirements increase tooling and labor.
Servers and infrastructure: Servers, virtualization, firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi, VPNs, and multiple sites add responsibilities.
Backup and recovery: Data volume, retention, recovery objectives, testing, and business continuity requirements affect cost.
Support coverage: Business-hours support and 24/7 coverage are not equivalent services.
Condition of the environment: An undocumented or unstable environment may require remediation and onboarding work before it can be managed efficiently.
Using $100–$200+ per user as a broad planning range—not a quote:
Approximately $1,000–$2,000+ per month
A small company can still have substantial infrastructure, security, or compliance needs, so small headcount does not automatically mean a small technology footprint.
Approximately $2,500–$5,000+ per month
At this size, differences in servers, locations, backup, security, Microsoft 365, and support coverage can significantly change proposals.
Approximately $5,000–$10,000+ per month
Larger environments may gain efficiencies per user, but additional infrastructure and business requirements can offset them.
These examples are arithmetic based on the planning range above. They are not PTS packages or advertised rates.
Ask each provider to define responsibility for help desk support, monitoring, patching, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365 administration, backup, network equipment, servers, onsite labor, after-hours support, projects, hardware, licensing, onboarding, and vendor coordination.
Then compare the gaps. A lower monthly number can be a good value when the scope fits your business. It can also simply mean you will purchase missing services separately—or discover the exclusion during an incident.
Ask for the actual responsibilities and tools included in the recurring fee, not just a list of broad service categories.
Clarify onsite labor, projects, after-hours work, hardware, software licensing, onboarding, cabling, migrations, and major changes.
Ask which security controls are included and which require another service or license. “Cybersecurity included” is too vague.
Determine what is backed up, where it is stored, how it is monitored, and whether recovery is actually tested.
Precision Technology Solutions does not assume two businesses need the same technology stack simply because they have the same number of employees. We start by understanding the users, devices, infrastructure, Microsoft 365 environment, security needs, backup requirements, support expectations, and business risks.
That lets the proposal reflect the services the business actually needs instead of forcing every client into an identical package.
Explore PTS Managed IT Services →Per-user pricing is common, but providers also use per-device, tiered, flat-fee, and hybrid models. The pricing structure matters less than clearly defining what the provider is responsible for.
Not always. Major migrations, office moves, new deployments, cabling, and other project work are often priced separately. Ask the provider to define project exclusions before signing.
One may have simple cloud applications and standardized laptops while the other has servers, multiple locations, regulatory requirements, advanced security, complex backups, or more demanding support needs. User count alone does not describe the environment.
The $100–$200+ figure in this article is a general 2026 market planning range, not PTS pricing. PTS determines pricing after reviewing the client's environment and agreed service scope.
